Penge High Street pickups

Penge High Street is a long, busy road running from the edge of Crystal Palace Park towards Beckenham. It has supermarkets, cafés, pubs and the Blenheim Centre, plus the Penge Festival that brings crowds to the area every summer.

Stopping on the High Street is tight because of buses and parked cars. Our drivers know the side roads where they can wait safely, and they will call you to let you know exactly where they are. If you have shopping bags, ask the driver to pull up as close to the shop as the road allows.

Penge East and Penge West stations

Penge has two stations, which confuses visitors more than you would think. Penge East, on the north side of the High Street, has Southeastern trains towards Victoria. Penge West, near the Anerley end, has the London Overground Windrush line and Southern trains to London Bridge. Kent House station sits a little further east.

Tell us which station you need when you book. A wrong station can mean a long walk, so it is worth checking your ticket. The driver will wait at the right entrance and help with your bags.

Crystal Palace Park from the Penge side

The Thicket Road gate puts you close to the lake and the famous Victorian dinosaur sculptures. Families often come into the park this way. We drop off and collect at the Penge gates, which can be easier than trying to reach the top of the park on busy event days.

The Watermen's Almshouses and local streets

Some of Penge's most striking buildings are the Watermen's Almshouses on the High Street, built in the 1840s for retired watermen and lightermen. Behind the main road there are streets of Victorian terraces with narrow roads and parked cars on both sides.

If your road is hard to find or has a tricky turning, add a note when booking. Our drivers will follow it.
