Anerley Road minicab pickups

Anerley Road is the main route through the area, running south from Crystal Palace towards Penge and Croydon Road. It carries a lot of buses and through traffic, and it can be slow at rush hour.

Our drivers know the side roads off Anerley Road where they can stop without blocking buses. When you book, give us your exact address and any notes about where to wait. The driver will call when they arrive.

Anerley Hill car service

Anerley Hill climbs steeply from the bottom of the park up to the National Sports Centre and Crystal Palace Parade. Walking it with bags is hard work, and in icy weather it is tricky. A short booked car up or down the hill is one of our most common local journeys.

If you are heading to the National Sports Centre for a swim, a training session or an event, we can drop you at the main entrance and collect you afterwards. On big event days the roads around the park get very busy, so book early.

Anerley station pickup

Anerley station sits between Penge West and Norwood Junction on the London Overground Windrush line, with Southern trains too. It is a small, quiet station, and a train journey with changes is hard work when you have heavy luggage.

We pick up and drop off at the station entrance. Tell us your train time and the driver will be there when you arrive. For longer trips with heavy bags, a direct car is often easier than changing trains.

Betts Park and local landmarks

Betts Park is a quiet green space on the Anerley side of the border with South Norwood. It holds one of the last surviving stretches of the old Croydon Canal, which once ran through the area. It is a good spot for a walk with children or a dog.

The old Anerley Town Hall, on Anerley Road, is a community hub with events and activities. We drop off and collect for events there too.

A short history of Anerley

Anerley grew up around the Croydon Canal and later the railway in the early 1800s. The name is said to come from an old word meaning lonely or solitary, as the area was once mostly fields. Today it is a busy residential area at the foot of the park, with good transport links and a strong community feel.
