What is a 6 seater minicab?
It is a larger car, usually a people carrier, with three rows of seats. The driver sits up front and up to six passengers fit behind. When the back row is in use, there is still room in the boot for a sensible amount of luggage.
Our 6 seater MPV takes up to six passengers, around four large suitcases and a couple of carry-on bags. If you need more seats, a 7 seater minicab gives you extra room and seats up to eight.
When an MPV minicab makes sense
Two saloons cost more than one MPV, and they rarely arrive at the same moment. A people carrier hire with driver solves both problems.
- Families of five or six heading to the airport
- Groups of friends going to a wedding, a party or a gig at the Crystal Palace Bowl
- Parents with a buggy, a car seat and a week of luggage
- Small work teams travelling to a meeting or an event
- Sports teams and clubs going to fixtures
A family of four with large cases is also worth considering. Four people fit in a saloon, but four big suitcases usually do not.

Family minicab with luggage
Luggage is where most bookings go wrong. People count heads and forget about bags. Before you book, picture the hallway on the morning you leave. If it has more than two big cases in it, a saloon is going to struggle.
The 6 seater has the space for a family trip. Strollers fold flat in the boot, and child seats can be fitted in the middle row on request. Tell us the ages and weights of the children so we send the correct seats.
Airport trips in a 6 seater
Holiday traffic is the biggest reason people book an MPV with us. A single car means everyone checks in together and nobody is stuck waiting for a second car in the departures lane.
Families often use the 6 seater for a Crystal Palace to Gatwick Airport minicab because it is the nearest big airport for summer holidays. Long-haul trips from the Heathrow Airport transfer page are just as common. For early flights from the north, see the Luton Airport minicab page for typical journey times.
6 passenger car service for nights out
A night out is more fun when everyone arrives together. Book a 6 seater to take your group into the West End, to a restaurant in Dulwich or to a party across town, then book the return at a set time.
Late finishes are no problem because we take bookings around the clock. A fixed fare also means you can split the cost evenly before you even set off.
How we plan larger group journeys
Bigger groups often come from more than one address. Tell us each pickup and we will work out a sensible order so nobody waits too long. Extra stops are added to the fare at booking, so the price you agree covers the whole trip.
If your group is too big for one 6 seater, we can book two cars, or one 6 seater and one saloon, and time them to arrive together.
Station transfers with a big group
Trains are great until you have six people and a pile of luggage to get through the barriers. A 6 seater drops you right by the entrance. Groups often book us for the Crystal Palace to King's Cross minicab before a trip north, or the Crystal Palace to Euston Station transfer for trains to Scotland and the North West.
Why not just book two cars?
It is a fair question. Two saloons can carry eight people, so why bother with an MPV?
The answer is timing and cost. Two cars rarely arrive together, which means one half of the group is left waiting on the pavement. At an airport or a station, that gap can mean a missed check-in or a missed train. Two cars also cost two fares. One 6 seater keeps everyone together and is usually the cheaper choice.
There is a comfort factor too. Families with small children prefer to travel together, so a parent can sit with each child.
Luggage examples that fit
To help you choose, here are some typical loads that work well in our 6 seater.
- Two adults, three children, four large cases and a buggy
- Six adults with six cabin bags
- Four adults with four large cases, two cabin bags and a set of golf clubs
- A family of five heading to a wedding with suit carriers and a couple of bags
If your load is bigger than this, tell us and we will suggest a 7 seater minicab or an extra car.
Accessibility and comfort
The 6 seater sits a little higher than a saloon, which many older passengers find easier to get in and out of. The sliding or wide rear doors also make it easier to fit child seats. If you use a folding wheelchair or walking frame, mention it when booking so we can make sure there is room in the boot.
6 seater minicab fares
Every journey has a fixed fare agreed when you book. A 6 seater costs more than a saloon for the same trip, but it is normally cheaper than booking two cars. The price depends on distance, time of day and any extra stops.
Pay by card or cash. If you are splitting the fare with friends, one person books and the others pay them back, as the driver takes one payment for the journey.
Booking tips for families
Book early for school holidays, bank holidays and half-term weekends, when MPVs are in high demand. Give us everyone's names if the group is coming from different addresses, and include a mobile number for each pickup. It helps the driver keep the timings tight.
